Inaugural season 2008
The Northwest Arkansas Naturals, the Double-A Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, open up their inaugural season on April 10, 2008 in the brand new Arvest Ballpark. The Naturals play a 140-game schedule that includes 70 home dates ranging from April through early September. The team plays in the Texas League of Professional Baseball Club against regional rivals like the Springfield (MO) Cardinals, Tulsa (OK) Drillers, and the Arkansas (Little Rock) Travelers.
The state of the art Arvest Ballpark will feature some of the most unique designs in all of Minor League Baseball and will offer entertainment for fans of all ages. LPGA Northwest Arkansas Championship presented by John Q. Hammons
Rogers is the proud host to the LPGA NW Arkansas Championship, an official event on the LPGA Tour. The week-long championship includes a variety of community events, Pro-Am play and three days of LPGA competition. The Tournament features three rounds of championship play and a total of $1.25 million in prize money. In addition, Team SemGroup, made up of seven professionals competing in a season-long points race will aim to win a $25,000 donation to a charity of choice.
